Ign reports today that the 1992 action/thriller/drama/romance flick starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston is getting a remake by Warner.

Do you care?
I can't say i don't,i fairly enjoyed the katana bonding scene in the movie..thats all i remember from it ...oh and that song will fooooooorever stay with me .

Straight from the "Why, Hollywood, why?!" department comes the news that Warner Bros. is developing a remake of its 1992 blockbuster, The Bodyguard.

Deadline reports that Dan Lin is producing the redo of the Kevin Costner-Whitney Houston romantic thriller with Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer scripting.

"The new version is similar, including the love story, but here the bodyguard will be a former Iraq war veteran who gets the job protecting the star as his first gig after leaving the Army," according to the site. "He discovers that the world of Twitter, Google Maps and TMZ has made access to celebrities easier than ever, making the job more difficult than ever. The goal is to take a young female singer with global appeal and give her the platform that The Bodyguard did Houston."

So how much do you wanna bet this will be a Channing Tatum-Rihanna vehicle? Or Chris Evans and Christina Aguilera?
