Following the unrelenting legal action Sony are taking against the famous hacker George Hotz,or GeoHot,hacker groups have officialy declared a war on Sony.

The statement was quickly followed by technical difficulties in the PSN network aswell as the Playstation Blog, ign reports :

Anonymous has released another statement via its site. This time, the group states that it is suspending its attack and not going after the PlayStation Network as it would negatively impact innocent players. However, the press release goes on to state that some hackers might still be attacking the PSN, but that they're not necessarily with Anonymous. The full statement is below.
Greetings, Sony Customers And PS3 Users. We are Anonymous.

During the last few days, Anonymous has been targeting Sony for their outrageous treatment of not only PS3 users and jailbreakers, but also of the general public. Their propaganda regarding jailbreaking implies that it encourages piracy and thereby makes people lose their jobs, whereas jailbreaking actually just means you are making YOUR device do what it should do. Imagine if Microsoft forced you to use Internet Explorer instead of Firefox or Chrome. Imagine if they denied users from using any other web browser than their own. Many people would obviously be pissed... but then, why aren't you pissed at Sony?

IGN certainly thinks so,and one cannot help but agree with them.

It is no secret that since the success of Modern Warfare every game publisher in the bussines has madly chased after the same profits,in the process copying without shame the same formula over and over again, most of the times coming out with hugely inferior products, like Homefront.

Another point the article brings is that the succes of COD games is actually beginning to threaten other game genres,as they become more and more scarce in favor of the "COD style" shooter.

For centuries, man has been predicting the end of the world as we know it. The Mayans, Nostradamus, R.E.M. – they've all been singing the same tune. What none of them managed to predict however, was that the world would be destroyed by Call of Duty. Well, the world of video games, at least.

Come on, you've been sensing it for a while. You've looked on in despair as yet another FPS is released that wants to be Black Ops. You've felt the mounting deluge of dissatisfaction that's been building inside you ever since Activision clearly realised Call of Duty 4 was a gambit that very much paid off, and could conceivably continue to pay off year, after year, after year at the cost of an entire genre of gaming.

If you were on the fence about upgrading your Ipad,or maybe just be a first time buyer, read IGN's review on the new tabled and see if its worth it or not for you.

It's easy to look at the iPad 2 and see its small iterative updates as underwhelming or insignificant, but their combined impact on the overall user experience is anything but.

The new iPad is thinner, lighter, faster, and more versatile than its predecessor, and while there are still some lingering issues, as well as a handful of new ones, it is most certainly a superior device.

The most immediately recognizable change is, of course, the iPad's new design...

Ign reports that 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment have aproached David Slade (Twilight) to take on the director's chair for the upcoming Daredevil movie.

Expect to see angsty teen romances and sexualy undecided main protagonist in the movie

20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment have reportedly zeroed in on David Slade to direct the next Daredevil movie.

According to Variety, "Sources close to the project tell Variety that the untitled film will be a continuation of the superhero pic, and will not contain material from the Ben Affleck-toplined version released by Fox in 2003."

Slade is coming off the commercial success of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. His past credits include Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night. Slade had been in contention to helm Wolverine 2, but that gig ultimately went to Darren Aronofsky.

Although no actor's been mentioned yet as the new Matt Murdock, we don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that someone at Fox hasn't at least thought of Slade's Twilight leading man, Robert Pattinson, for the title role...

IGN reports today that GK films has purchased the rights to the tomb raider movie franchise and is preping a full reboot sometimes in 2013 .

It is curious because the game franchise is receiving the reboot treatment aswell this year from crystal dynamics, transforming it into a more gritty and realistic game.

I sincerely hope the movies will take that aproach aswell.

Reboots are becoming more and more popular lately. Last year, we learned that Crystal Dynamics is rebooting the Tomb Raider series of games with a new adventure that focuses on the origins of Lara Croft and her rise to fame as an archaeologist/slash adventurer.

Hollywood's Lara Croft, 1.0.

It seems Hollywood will be following suit. Miss Croft has had one of the more successful transitions from games to film, with two previous movie adventures starring Angelina Jolie. Now GK Films has announced that they've acquired the rights to the franchise and aim to deliver a rebooted Tomb Raider film by 2013.
