The wait is over; the new Apple iPad is here. Today at their press conference Apple announced their next generation tablet, the iPad 2, which includes a new design, upgraded processors and more.
It's Smaller
The new iPad will be 33% thinner at 8.8mm - down from 13.4mm. It will also be up to 15% lighter than the original iPad, going from 1.5 pounds to 1.3. These improvements have been added while still maintaining the same 9.7-inch LED-backlit LCD screen.
It's Faster
The iPad 2 features Apple's new dual-core A5 processor. The dual-core processors promise to be twice as fast for CPU performance, and nine times faster for graphics.
